Over 16 weeks in Ruawai, Northland, the Coll Electrical team brought to life a 16.7MW ground planted system spanning 20 hectares. Gifted the name ‘Te Puna Mauri ō Omaru’ by local hapū Te Uri o Hau, the solar farm is capable of powering 3,000 homes annually.
Working alongside other key contractors, our team of 15 staff and specialist equipment maintained exceptional safety standards and efficiency throughout the project. Through practical work practices, we ensured all tasks were completed on schedule, enabling the solar farm to become operational by its deadline before Christmas 2024.
This project consisted of 27776 PV models, 42 combiner boxes, and 4 inverters.
Our scope of works included:
- Installation of all DC cabling and terminations
- Installation of all AC cabling and terminations
- Installation of all combiner boxes and terminations
- Installation of all inverters and terminations
- Connections of all PV modules
- Earthing and bonding
- Testing, commissioning, QA, and labelling of all works
